Mopar, Ram Will Sponsor TORC Series

Mopar and Ram Trucks recently struck a sponsorship deal with TORC (The Off-Road Championship) series of 2011. As of this deal, Ram will now be the official vehicle used in the Series, while the Ram Runner from Mopar will be the series’ official pace truck. Apart from this, the partnership also includes an off road test drive of the Ram Truck for their fans.

Five drivers of PRO-Class will drive in the Ram trucks during this series of 14 races which will get underway on the weekend of Memorial Day in Buchanan, Michigan at Red Bud MX. Mopar and Ram Truck will also share the sponsorship for the team of Traxxas Racing, which is fielded by Mark and Mike Jenkins, along with the team of Menzies Motorsports, which is owned by Steve Menzies.

The CEO and President for the Ram brand of trucks and the Chrysler Group’s Sales Head, Fred Diaz, said that he could not be more proud about Ram partnering with these off road drivers, the TORC series as well as the teams which are of championship caliber. He also added that off road racers and fans are very passionate when it comes to trucks, a thing which resembles with them.

This partnership will be a perfect fit for them to share as well as connect the passion in a more exciting and fun way.

Meanwhile, the CEO and President of Chrysler Group’s customer care, parts and services and Mopar, Pietro Gorlier, said that right from the drag strip to race track, their brand has a great heritage when it comes to racing. They are also excited about extending their presence to off road racing, a place where many of their fans reside, adding that off-road performance parts and accessories make up almost 30 per cent of their brand portfolio, making this an important market that they want to reach.
