Mopar, Ram Will Sponsor TORC Series

Mopar and Ram Trucks recently struck a sponsorship deal with TORC (The Off-Road Championship) series of 2011. As of this deal, Ram will now be the official vehicle used in the Series, while the Ram Runner from Mopar will be the series' official pace truck. Apart from this, the partnership also includes an off road test drive of the Ram Truck for their fans. Five drivers of PRO-Class will drive in the Ram trucks during this series of 14 races which will get underway on the weekend of Memorial Day in Buchanan, Michigan at Red Bud MX. Mopar and Ram Truck will also share the sponsorship for the team of Traxxas Racing, which is fielded by Mark and Mike Jenkins, along with the team of Menzies Motorsports, which is owned by Steve Menzies. According to recent reports the El Camino Chevrolet truck is still in the running for competing in the US pickup trucks market. This truck still has its approval pending for production depending on the rates of gas prices. If the truck manages to get a green signal; however, ute could launch this truck for the 2013 model year. The documents which have been obtained by the GMI have listed this truck, as being under the Z2RC program code. GM had earlier announced their plans to bring the VE Ute who to American shores as the G8 Pontiac sport truck during the auto show in New York in the year 2007. Freightliner Adds New SD Vocational trucks to its Commercial Line-up

Freightliner recently renewed their line up of vocational trucks by adding two new SD or Severe Duty models to it. These are the 114SD and the 108SD. These trucks will fill up the gap left by the discontinuation of the vocational trucks from Sterling in the industry. Freightliner's strategy and marketing general manager, David Hames, apart from the Coronado 122SD truck, the new trucks will be joining the M2 Business Class of medium duty trucks and the Coronado and Cascadia over the road models, which will give the truck manufacturer a complete line up of commercial trucks. SsangYong, a Korean automobile manufacture will use the International Motor Show going on presently in Geneva to debut its latest concept Sport Utility Truck 1, before going on sale in the European and various other markets in 2012. The SUT 1 is similar to its preview illustrations which were released last week. The proportions and styling will remind you of the sleeker Honda Ridgeline version pick up truck with a little styling influence by Mercedes noticeable in the flanks. Ford F-150 Trucks Used for Developing Hydraulic Hybrid Powertrain of 40 MPG

The Ford Motor Co. is currently working with Folsom Technologies and Center for Compact and Efficient Fluid Power so that it can develop an F-150 prototype of the light duty pick up truck which will be propelled by an hybrid hydraulic powertrain. The Hydraulic hybrids will be different from the hybrids of gas and electricity, like the 1500 Hybrid Chevrolet Silverado, however the goal remains the same which is improve the fuel efficiency. The CCEFP's Co-Deputy Director, Perry Li, said that they have a potential to be able to reach a goal of 40 mpg or more with this hydraulic power. The Hino Trucks Company which is a part of the Toyota Motor Group announced recently that they would be introducing new vehicles at the World Truck Show of 2011 which will take place at Indianapolis. Egypt Unrest Causes Nissan to Halt Giza Plant Production

The Japanese manufacturer, Nissan had suspended the production of its vehicles for a week at its Egyptian plant, according to a statement released by the company. The decision behind this move comes after the movements of civil unrest to hit the country following anti-government protests going on in the state. The Nissan company spokesperson, Yoshie, Yamakazi stated that the company's operations in Giza which is South of Cairo won't resume till a week. The Giza plant currently manufacturers 10,000 units every year. It mainly manufacturers the SUV, X-Trail and other pick up truck models. The Nissan Co. currently has four employees located in the Egyptian nation. They have been directed to reside in hotels located out of Cairo city for their own safety. US Xpress Receives its 50,000th Freightliner Truck

US Xpress is one of America's biggest freight carriers. These carriers were recently presented with its 50,000th truck of the Freightliner brand by the North American division of Daimler Trucks. The Daimler Trucks of North America has been presenting these freight carriers with trucks continuously over the last 26 years, from 1985 onwards. The North American division of the Daimler Trucks has been presenting Freightliner trucks to the company from the year 1985 onwards, delivering trucks at the rate of 3,000 to 4,000 a year. The Freightliner truck which marks this anniversary is the Cascadia heavy duty truck which is equipped with a raised roof of 72 inches as well as a DD15 Detroit Diesel engine. The White House has given green signal to Chinese to the Chinese government to import goods worth $45 billion from 12 states, including the state of Michigan, imports include hybrid bus system, electric vehicle batteries and other Auto parts.
